HTC One S Review: I Give It A Fly

IMG_0053Despite the fact that there's no real wow factor here, it would be entirely unfair to say that HTC's One S isn't a great phone. It is. The hardware is some of the best I've seen in a long time, Sense 4 is quite nice albeit a touch heavy for my taste, and the specs are right in line with what we're seeing on the market today. Truth be told, anyone at T-Mobile would be lucky to have one. S. (Lawl.)

Usher To Preview Looking For Myself At Off-Broadway Show

Singer tells MTV News 'Fuerza Bruta' matches the 'more artistic' music on his upcoming album.
By Jocelyn Vena

<P>This Saturday (and this Saturday only), Usher will appear in New York City's "Fuerza Bruta," an off-Broadway show where no one speaks, but the story is told through bright lights, music and dancing. In the lead role of Running Man, <a href="/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a> will also use the show to preview his June album release, <a href="/news/articles/1682140/usher-looking-for-myself.jhtml"><i>Looking for Myself.</i></a> </P><P> </P><P>Fans in the audience will likely get closer than they've ever been to the singer, as the audience stands during the performance, becoming another member of the company. With several weeks until his album release, Usher explained to MTV News at a rehearsal why he wanted to use this show to preview tracks. </P><P> </P><P><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:764205/cp~vid%3D764205%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A764205" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed> </P><P> </P><P>"I felt like the natural elements as well as the emotion of 'Fuerza Bruta' would definitely speak or be significant to some of the stories and I guess hopefully a connection [was there]," he explained of tying this performance to his album. "When we began to explore different directions [for the performance like] maybe we use some of their music, maybe we use some of mine ... and before you knew it the idea came together. We tried it, I got on Running Man and it worked." </P><P> </P><P>The show will stream his entire album, which drops June 12, and he thinks the mind-bending artistry of "Fuerza Bruta" works with the sound he's created on it. "This is more artistic of an album than I've had in history," he said. "And I felt like yeah, it would be a lot for me, but I was willing to at least try it. There were many times I had seen the show and I only hoped that I would be able to make it happen." </P><P> </P><P><center><a href="http://www.mtv.com/photos/?fid=1617615"><img src="http://www.mtv.com/news/photos/s/spotted/banner/spotted.jpg"></a></center></p>

Sun stops shining on E Ink Holdings: company reports first loss in two years

Sun stops shining on E Ink Holdings: company reports first loss in two years

E Ink Holdings made a loss of over $25 million last quarter, despite supplying its backlight-free panels to popular e-readers like the Kindle and the Nook. Why the poor showing after ten quarters of solid money-making? The company's accountants blame "off-season effects" and "inventory adjustments" by customers, which may simply be corporatese for "the screens aren't selling so well." Overall revenue tumbled 63 percent compared to the same period in 2011 and the outlook remains "conservative" -- although it's hard to believe that everyone suddenly wants to stay indoors and stare at pixels.

It goes without saying that in order to achieve an impressive onscreen performance, an actor must enter into the mind, body, and environment of the character he or she is portraying. While fictionalized characters require imagination and innovation, historical figures depend on research and character study. And few historical individuals are more dark, complex and mysterious than Edgar Allan Poe.

MTV News recently spoke with veteran thespian John Cusack, who portrays the legendary poet and storyteller in the upcoming film "The Raven", and asked what it takes to really enter into the world of such a puzzling man.

"It's like an app, right? Like on your phone, 'Go to Darkness.' You press the Poe app," Cusack joked.

"That's sort of how the psyche works, too, in a way," he clarified. "So, I think you just try to activate it and bring it to life."

So, how did Cusack bring it to life? On top of reading Poe's works and studied his biography, healso tried to tap into his emotions.

"If you think of movies like in a dream language, then there's kind of a dream logic to it," Cusack said. "And then you just follow the feelings. You use the feelings, I think that's what it is."

"The Raven" hits theaters April 27, so fans of Poe and his stories will soon discover how Cusack brings the horror-writer back to life.

Check out everything we've got on "The Raven."

Khloe Kardashian on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West: Easy! Natural!

Khloe Kardashian is all about the Kimye train.

In a segment with Andy Cohen on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live Sunday night, the reality star spoke about the relationship between sister Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, which has only intensified in the days since when the pair were spotted holding hands.

Khloe Kardashian on Watch What Happens Live

"We've known Kanye for like nine years," Khloe said. "He's great with the family, but again we've known him for so long. It's not like some stranger getting into a hurricane."

But don't start planning the wedding gifts and subsequent divorce apologies, Khloe says.

"I don't think it's serious. I think it's too soon. But because they've been friends for so long, it's just so easy and that's something I love seeing for Kim - the easiness and how happy she is. And it's just more of a great friendship and friendships make the best relationships."

As well as the best fodder for the next three seasons of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Man. Kill us now.
